• If deer are a problem in your landscape, minimize damage by selecting deer resistant plants such as ornamental grasses, palms, gardenias, rosemary, and wax myrtle. Avoid pittosporum and Indian hawthorn, which are among their favorites!
• Rake leaves and start a compost pile.

• Plant spring flowering bulbs between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Treat tulips as annuals and pull out after flowering. Varieties that return reliably include daffodils, Spanish bluebells, and summer snowflake (Leucojum).
• A 2-3” blanket of mulch will protect overwintering perennials and help minimize weeds.
