• Late summer is the most effective time to control fire ants with baits.
• Fertilize bermudagrass and zoysia lawns with 1lb. of nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft. and St. Augustine at a rate of 1/2  lb. nitrogen per 1,000 sq. ft.
• Centipede lawns growing in extremely sandy soils may benefit from an application of 5 lbs. of 5-0-15 fertilizer per 1,000 sq. ft. this month.
• If mole crickets are a problem in your lawn, treat in mid to late summer.
• Treat lawns for grubs only if you find more than 5 grubs per square foot.
