Join us, on the third Thursday of each month at 9 a.m. at the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center. The Master Gardener℠ Speakers Bureau of Currituck County provides quality horticultural information as a public service. All speakers are Master Gardener℠ volunteers who have completed the NC State University Master Gardener℠ volunteer program.

Jodi Lockhart, Master Gardener℠ volunteer of Currituck County, will instruct our first Speakers Bureau topic for 2020, “Houseplants for Clean Air.” It will be held on January 16 and cover several varieties of houseplants that can remove harmful toxins from the air. Learn about the best air-purifying plants for your home, from spider plants to Gerbera daisies. Attendees will learn how to correctly identify, select, and care for indoor plants. All participants will receive at least one free plant and detailed instructions for its care.

The February, Master Gardener℠ Speakers Bureau of Currituck County presentation on solitary bees will be held on February, 20. Don Campbell, a Master Gardener℠ volunteer of Pasquotank County, will teach about solitary bees and how you can make your own simple “Air Bee and Bee” for these great garden guests.
