The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Pender County Speakers Bureau is offering a new and informative class, Hot Tomatoes! This class will present tips and hints to grow the delicious tomatoes you remember growing up with on Thursday, November 1, 2018, at the Hampstead Library, 75 Library Dr., Hampstead, NC 28443. The class is scheduled from 11 a.m. – noon. It will be led by Master Gardener volunteer, Martha Highsmith.

This class will give you the information needed for you to select the correct variety of tomato for your garden, offer suggestions for seed selection, and give you hints on how to keep your plants healthy so next summer you will have a bumper crop of tomatoes from your Pender County back yard garden. We will also give you information on our Seed Starting Workshop scheduled for February so you can start your seeds indoors. This class is free and all are welcome. For more information or to register for the class contact Tim Mathews, N.C. Cooperative Extension of Pender County Horticultural Agent, (910) 259-1235. Check us out on Facebook.
