Backyard Composting Class

— Written By

The NC State Extension Master Gardener Volunteers, Pender County Speakers Bureau is offering an informative Backyard Composting class to be held Tuesday, June 5, from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the Hampstead Library, 75 Library Dr., Hampstead, NC 28443.

The class, led by Master Gardener Maureen Spataro, will highlight the basics of composting at home. Compost is an organic material that can be added to the soil to help plants grow. Food scraps and yard waste currently make up 20 to 30 percent of what we throw away. Learn to recycle waste into black gold that you can use in your garden.
